As well as a pair of turned brass warping drums, for auxiliary pulling/lifting power, this trawl winch features twin coil drums with independent forward/reverse and brake controls, all of which have allowed simultaneous control of both the port and starboard warp lines. The roller fairlead assembly hangs on the upper shaft with a simulated roller bearing and is secured in place by the lower shaft; the assembly even features gear stops, which would limit sideways movement, preventing lead ropes being able to pass beyond the ends of the drum coils.
